The problem is that proponents of reform have many good arguments to make, on emotional, economic and political grounds, but simply aren't making them. Perhaps they feel the strength of their position is enough and they needn't carry loaded weapons into public discussions, yet why do Democrats insist on caving to loud but decidedly minority wishes, often lunatic?
